SIGNING A QUOTE
How to sign and return a quote from your phone
A signed quote is often the thing standing between a job and the start of it, and the delay is almost never the decision — it is finding a printer. This takes a couple of minutes on a phone.
The four steps
STEP 01
Set up your signature once
Photograph your handwritten signature on white paper. It is saved with a transparent background and reused on everything you sign afterwards.
STEP 02
Open the quote
Open the PDF from Files or Photos. If the quote came on paper, scan it: the built-in scanner straightens the page and gives you a PDF to work on.
STEP 03
Sign, date, and add anything the form asks
Most quotes need a signature and a date in an acceptance block, sometimes a printed name or a purchase order number. Place each where it belongs and nothing lands crooked — the overlay snaps to the line.
STEP 04
Send it straight back
Export a PDF and share it from the same screen, into mail or a messaging app. The whole return trip happens without the file leaving the phone first.
What to watch for on a quote
- Yes:Sign the acceptance block, not the header. Quotes often carry a supplier signature at the top already, and signing the wrong line is the usual cause of a second round trip.
- Yes:Date it. An accepted quote without a date is hard to hold anyone to, including yourself.
- Yes:If the quote has an expiry, return it before that date rather than on it.
- Yes:Send the PDF rather than a screenshot, so the figures stay readable and the pages stay intact.
What SnapInk does, and does not, do here
SnapInk places an image of your handwritten signature onto the document. It does not verify who you are, issue a certificate, or produce an audit trail, so it is not an electronic signature service in the regulated sense. Whether that is enough depends on your country and on the document — if yours has to be witnessed, notarised, or signed with a qualified electronic signature, use a service built for that.
Works offline, on site
Every step runs on the device, so a quote can be signed and queued on a job site with no signal and sent when the phone finds one.
