FAQ

Questions people actually ask

If something here is unclear or missing, write to support@snapink.ca and we will answer it.

How do I sign a PDF on my iPhone?
Install SnapInk and photograph your handwritten signature once; the app lifts it off the paper and gives it a genuinely transparent background. Then open a PDF from Files or Photos, tap the page to place the signature, and export a new PDF. All of it happens on the phone.
How do I sign a document on Android?
The same way. Photograph your signature once, open a PDF from Files or your gallery, place the signature on the page, and export. It is the same app on both platforms, with no account and no upload on either.
Can I type my signature instead of photographing one?
Yes. If there is no pen to hand, type your name and pick one of four handwriting styles; the result is saved to your library like any other signature. The photographed version still looks more like you, so it is the one the app offers first.
Can I scan a paper document into a PDF?
Yes. Photograph a paper document, straighten it, reorder the pages, and you get a clean multi-page PDF. You can switch between original, colour, greyscale and black-and-white before saving, and there is no limit on the number of pages.
Can I sign every page of a multi-page document?
Yes, and there is no page limit on an imported PDF. You can place a signature, the date, your initials or any typed text on any page, as many times as the document needs.
What formats can I export to?
PDF, JPG or PNG, at a quality you choose. You can share the file, save it to Files, or print it. Image formats export the first page only.
Does SnapInk work without an internet connection?
Yes. Capturing a signature, scanning, signing and exporting all run on the device and work offline. Buying or restoring a subscription goes through the App Store or Google Play, so that part needs a connection.
Are my documents or signatures uploaded anywhere?
No. SnapInk has no server and no account, so your documents and signatures are stored on your device and nowhere else. We cannot see them, and we cannot recover them if you delete the app.
Do I need an account?
No. There is nothing to create and nothing to sign in to. A subscription, if you buy one, is attached to your App Store or Google Play account rather than to a SnapInk account.
How much does SnapInk cost?
SnapInk is free to download, and Pro is free for the first three days. After that it is CA$49.99 a year or CA$12.99 a week. Prices shown in Canadian dollars; they vary by country, and your store shows the exact price in your own currency before you confirm.
What can I do with the free version?
You get one saved signature, the full scanner and editor, and three exports a month with a small watermark in the corner. There is no card to enter and nothing expires.
How do I cancel the subscription?
Cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings, not in the app — deleting SnapInk does not cancel a subscription. To avoid being charged after the trial, cancel at least 24 hours before the third day ends.
Is a signature added with SnapInk legally valid?
SnapInk places an image of your handwritten signature onto a document. It is not an electronic signature service: there is no identity verification, no certificate and no audit trail. Whether that is enough depends on your country and on the document, so for anything that requires a certified signature, use a service built for that.
Does SnapInk work on iPad and Android tablets?
Yes. SnapInk runs natively on iPad and Android tablets, with layouts built for the larger screen rather than a scaled-up phone view. It requires iOS or iPadOS 16.4, or Android 10.
Who makes SnapInk?
SnapInk is made by Tek-Plus inc., a company based in Quebec, Canada. You can reach us at support@snapink.ca.
